Junior College Admission Policy In the Junior College, students learn specialized knowledge and techniques in each department and major, while mastering a broad range of general culture, and acquiring a rich sense of humanity. In this way, the college produces human resources who can immediately set to work in society. Therefore, in each field, the college accepts students who devote themselves seriously to their studies, and want to be active in society. Department of Business and CommunicationDepartment of Science for Human Health, Food and Nutrition MajorDepartment of Science for Human Health, Welfare Care MajorDepartment of Early Childhood Care and EducationDepartment of Music Department of Business and Communication Supporting the realization of dreams through a two-stage curriculum In the Department of Business and Communication, we support the realization of all our students' dreams through a curriculum comprised of two stages. Stage I: In the morning, we have classes shared by all students in the department, such as career design, IT education, and business manners. Here students develop the basic skills of working adults. Stage II: In the afternoon, there are classes to prepare for examinations corresponding to each course. We strive to improve career potential via a well-planned, effective curriculum that leads students all the way to becoming qualified assets of society. Medical Clerical Course This course aims to help students pass the Medical Clerk skills examination, the largest-scale qualifying exam in the field of medical clerical work in Japan. We provide an efficient curriculum so students can pass the exam in time for their initial job search. Support is also provided for acquiring qualifications as a healthcare management secretary and nursing care insurance clerk. Civil Service Course The aim of this course is to pass the civil service examination. Students take up the challenge of the exam starting from the first year. Thus all afternoons of the first semester are devoted to intensive instruction preparing for the civil service examination. Business Career Course This course aims to help students pass various certification exams. These include state examinations, such as the financial planner skills certification and intellectual property management skills certification, as well as the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) certifications for PC skills, MOS, secretary, JCCI bookkeeping, and retail marketing. Regional Business Course In this course, students carry out diverse types of fieldwork inside and outside the prefecture, and refine their abilities to discover issues, propose ideas, and work cooperatively. The aim is to develop human resources to play an active role in the regional community. This is achieved by learning about local brands and local businesses in collaboration with Tokushima Prefecture, and municipalities and businesses in the prefecture. Long-Term Course This course allows for students to pay two years of tuition in installments over three years. This eases the economic burden, so students can focus on acquiring qualifications and certifications for skills such as in the medical clerical field necessary in their future career. Page Top Department of Science for Human Health Food and Nutrition Major Aiming to produce specialists focused on health through food who can work in a variety of fields In the Food and Nutrition Major, we cultivate individuals who can work as dietitians, or at food-related companies. The objective is for students to acquire specialized knowledge and outstanding techniques, so they can work in a broad range of food and health related fields based on nutrition and food science. Nutrition and Food Education Course Based on knowledge of nutrition and food education throughout life, students can hone the practical skills needed in nutrition-related settings, acquire dietitian qualifications, and become nutrition instructors. Nutrition and Food Course Based on knowledge of nutrition, food processing, and microorganism management, students can hone the practical skills needed by food-related businesses, and find work as food hygiene managers and food scientists. Degree Associate of Food and Nutrition Main Classes First year Anatomy and Physiology I, Introduction to Food Science, Food Analysis Chemistry, Cooking Training I and II, Food Processing, Cooking Science, Introduction to Clinical Nutrition Science, Nutritional Guidance Second year Food Quality Evaluation, Community Nutrition, Food Hygiene, Anatomy and Physiology II, Nutrition Counseling , Food Hygiene (Lab) Paths after Graduation Graduates with the Food and Nutrition Major are highly regarded for their specialized knowledge and techniques, as well as their human touch, and almost 100% of them find a job each year. Some also acquire at least three years of work experience as a dietitian, and then work as administrative dietitians by qualifying for and passing the national examination. Page Top Department of Science for Human Health Welfare Care Major This major aims to develop highly professional certified care workers (a national qualification) who can provide smart, conscientious care through communication and their understanding of the human heart. In the Welfare Care Major, we impart specialized knowledge and techniques through hands-on learning--in which students can discover the joy of mutual support and their own way of life--and develop certified care workers who can support dignified, self-reliant living. Going forward, these workers will play an essential role in Japanese society. The commitment to care and the specialized knowledge and techniques learned in this department will definitely be of use not only in kindergartens, daycare centers, and the childcare settings of welfare facilities, but also in future child-rearing of the students' own children. Other students make use of the knowledge and warm human touch they acquire in the Department of Early Childhood Care and Education in their work at ordinary companies. Page Top Department of Music The most important prerequisite is a passion for music The student's level of musical achievement at admission is irrelevant. There is no need for everyone to begin from the same starting line. The most important prerequisite is a passionate feeling of love for music. The department provides thorough individual guidance and a unique curriculum, as well as support for employment, further studies and promotion. Music Performance Course, Popular/Classic As a specialization, students can select vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, piano, vocal music or wind/string/percussion instruments. Our aim is to cultivate performers and teachers. Music Production Course, Vocaloid/Sound & Lighting In the Vocaloid specialization, students are taught by experts about everything from the basics of song/lyric writing and DTM, to creation of Vocaloid works. In the Sound & Lighting specialization, students wishing to work in the PA and lighting industry directly acquire knowledge and techniques from teachers working in the field. Business and Musical Therapy Course Students aiming to work at ordinary companies study a balanced mix of music and business-related classes. They can also acquire qualifications as a music therapist. There are also a growing number of graduates who choose to work at hospitals, facilities, or in ordinary business or sales, by using the qualifications as a music therapist.
