As its main activities, the Institute promotes research by full-time teaching staff, has a steering committee to solicit and screen research themes, holds research presentations and publishes journals to communicate research results to the public, and plans and holds lecture presentations. Currently, the Institute&＃8217;s research projects are implemented in an organizational structure covering six to seven fields, encompassing engineering basics, cosmic space, energy, materials, structures, the environment, and disaster prevention. The Institute has an Analysis Center equipped with leading-edge experimental apparatuses required for education and research, which are offered for shared use by parties both inside and outside the university.
